The Crafted Grid
Mumbai, Maharashtra
2026
The project
The Crafted Grid is a 600 sq. ft. office in Mumbai, designed for a practice that had spent 27 years working from a compact, wood-heavy workspace.
The brief was to create a more open and contemporary environment while retaining a sense of warmth and familiarity.
The design is structured around a simple grid that brings definition and order to the compact footprint without making the space feel enclosed. Glass partitions, warm timber and neutral stone come together to create a workspace that balances privacy with visual openness.
A restrained material palette keeps the interiors calm, while carefully integrated furniture and detailing make the most of every square foot. The meeting room extends into the adjoining cabin through a continuous table, creating a subtle connection between spaces while maintaining their individual functions.
The result is a workspace that feels lighter, more collaborative and distinctly contemporary—a considered transformation of a long-established workplace into a space designed for its next chapter.
